The Ministry of Culture, Craft Industry and Tourism is in charge of working out and implementing the State’s policy in the field of culture craft industry and tourism. In this respect, it is charged with :

- Reaffirming Benin’s cultural identity in compliance with the guidelines of the National Cultural charter ;

- Ensuring the organizing, coordination, functioning, development and monitoring in the sectors of culture, craft, industry and tourism ;

- Ensuring the representation and protect the State’s interest within the international cultural, craft and tourist-oriented associations, Benin is or shall be member of ;

- Promoting the information, training and the technical assistance to stakeholders of culture, craftsmen and tourist operators ;

- Enhancing the social conditions of the stakeholders of culture, craftsmen and tourist operators ;

- Ensuring the supervision of the public establishments and companies falling beneath the authority of the Ministry
