Stated Role The vision of VPO is to attain sustainable human development, eradication of poverty, security and equitable use of resources on a sustainable basis to meet the basic needs of the present and future generation without degrading the environment or risking health or safety and also maintain the union between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of Zanzibar.<P>The mission of Vice-President's Office (VPO) is to formulate policies and strategies on poverty eradication, protection of environment and non-governmental organisations as well as coordinate all issues pertaining to the union of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of Zanzibar.
