A Government of National Reconciliation will be set up immediately after the conclusion of the Paris Conference (see notes below on Linas-Marcoussis Agreement) to ensure a return to peace and stability. It will be charged with strengthening the independence of the justice system, restoring the administration and public services and rebuilding the country. It will implement the appended Round Table program which includes, in particular, provisions in the constitutional, legislative and regulatory spheres.<P> |

Following the civil war of 2002 the French Republic invited Ivorian political forces to sign a peace accord. The Linas-Marcoussis Agreement, was signed on 23rd January 2003 arriving at a consensus on how to implement a peace plan. [ Retrieved on 12-12-06 ] |
