Overall Functions <P>1.2.1. Coordinate the development of a National Vision for the country development policies. <P>1.2.2. Coordinate and lead the National Economic Development Planr process, including the formulation of provincial plans programmes aimed at achieving balanced regional development, <P>1.2.3. Carry out macro-economic policy analysis and research of the performance of economic sectors and in conjunction with relevant ministries, recommend appropriate policy interventions. <P>1.2.4. Collect and analyse statistics and other relevant data require! economic planning purposes such as: National Accounts (C Domestic Product, Savings, Investment, and Consumption); Balance of Payments; Inflation; Money Supply and Interest Rates Interest Rates; Public Finance and Domestic and External Debt <P>1.2.5. Undertake short, medium and long-term projections and fore to guide economic development policy strategies. <P>1.2.6. Coordinate the activities of various sector organisations involv the implementation of national development programmes. <P>1.2.7. Establish a repository of strategic statistical information sys documentation and library services for use by stakeholders, will include the transformation of the Central Statistical Office to an autonomous Executive Agency. <P>1.2.8. Coordinate the implementation of the Macro-economic Framework starting with the 2005-2006 Framework. <P>1.2.9. Coordinate the formulation of a National Poverty Reduction Strategic Programme in line with the realisation of the Millenium Development Goals. <P>1.2.10. Develop a comprehensive and consistent Macro-economic Macro-economic Model of the economy.<P>1.2.11. Coordinate the formulation and implementation of se economic policy interventions to ensure consistency with the National Development Plan namely, Agriculture Vision 2035; Industrial Development Plan; Small and Medium Enterprises Development; Mining Development Plan; Tourism and Environrr Master Plan; Energy Development; Transport Developmi Housing Development Infrastructure Development P Empowerment; National Population Policy and Rural and Ur Development Plans. <P>1.2.12. Coordinate the restructuring of public enterprise including; the establishment of a consistent regulatory framework<P> |
