The Agricultural Research Division (ARD) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) is responsible for applied and adaptive research on crops, soils, and socio-economics. Crop screening involves the initial evaluation and introduction of crop varieties with an aim of identifying the most suitable cultivars and practices of producing these crops and the control of pests and diseases using the most economical and environmentally friendly pesticides. Socio-economics research involves the monitoring and evaluation of technology adoption, identification of constraints and the preparation of partial budgets. |
