| Notes |
The Ethiopian Mapping Authority was established in 1954 under the then Imperial Ethiopian Ministry of Education and Fine Arts as a small unit with the task of producing maps for educational purposes. Since its establishment, the status and organizational position of the Authority in the public sector has changed several times. To meet the pressing demands for survey data and maps as basic tools in the national development program, the agency was reorganized in 1980 as an Authority. |
