The main objective (goal) of ESRDF is improving the living conditions of the poor through active participation of communities by laying down basic economic and social infrastructures. In order to realize this goal, the ESRDF maintains the following objectives:- <P>J To improve the living standards of mainly rural communities through the provision and strengthening of basic social services; <P>J To enhance the income generating capacity of poor communities by laying down economic infrastructure and providing services; <P>J To promote a community based approach in project identification, preparation, implementation, administration and maintenance; <P>J To assist in the formation and development of self-sustaining micro-finance institutions to provide credit services to the poor; and <P>J To assist grassroots organizations and communities develop their technical and managerial capabilities in all aspects of project activities. <P> |
