| The unit came into being as a result of the department's effort to take over some of the responsibilities from the IHSs, as per the recommendations of the IHS O & M . MAJOR ACTIVITIES OF THE UNIT Develop and introduce a system of continuous evaluation of all health training programmes in terms of its relevance to the needs, appropriateness of the content and teaching material, effectiveness of the delivery, e.t.c. Regularly monitor and coordinate the inter-relationship of the training programmes to avoid overlaps of contents and more productive of training resources. Develop a system of evaluating the curriculum of the professional training programmes to ensure they reflect changes in technology, national needs and priorities and training methods and material. Develop and implement an effective and objective method of evaluating the final examinations results of the professional/technical training courses ensuring that national standards remain high and relevant. |
