The department is responsible for the following functions:<P>a) coordinate overall resources and support services (i.e administration, finances, manpower, transport, logistics, material facilities, etc) of all the departments<P>b) develop administrative capabilities within the entire Ministry in areas such as resource planning and utilisation, administrative systems and procedures, decision making and supervision, work coordination and con troll, performance standards and accountability for results, etc<P>c) provide full range of manpower related services (e.g manpower planning, training and development, deployment, payroll administration, payment of allowances, industrial relations, housing, accommodation, transport, etc)<P>d) provide at overall Ministry level, effective public relations services.<P>e) Enable the Permanent Secretary (Accounting Officer) to effectively direct, coordinate and control all administrative activities of the Ministry and ensure that all resources allocated to the ministry are optimally utilised for the attainment of the ministry and national objectives.<P> |
