| Notes | In addition to being a Commissioner, Mr. Chirwa serves as Chief Executive of the Tea Association of Malawi. He earned a B.Soc.Sc from the University of Malawi, a certificate in Project Planning and Appraisal of Rural Projects from the University of Bradford (UK), and was a research fellow on the IDRC Pearson Fellowship at the University of Manitoba (Canada). All this agricultural experience has been especially useful in privatizations of the smallholder crop authorities. During the first five years of the programme, he also conducted a public awareness campaign in Nkhata Bay, Mzimba, and Chiradzulu Districts. Now in the second phase, Mr. Chirwa looks forward to contributing to increased Malawian participation in the programme by encouraging more Malawians to not only buy shares but buy and own these privatised businesses as well.
