The Department of Teaching Service Management is the teacher employment arm of the Ministry of Education. It exists to provide quality teachers to the education system through timely recruitment and equitable distribution of these teachers to all Government and Government supported schools in Botswana. The organisational mission is based on the following basic tenets: <P>Ensuring that teachers are content. <P>Providing a courteous, committed and caring service to all stakeholders. <P>Recruitment of qualified teachers from reputable sources for Government and Government aided schools in Botswana. <P>Promotion and support of in-service training for our teachers. <P>Ensuring the most cost-effective utilization of the available teaching human resources. <P>Managing human resources on the basis of sound concepts and professional practice of human resource management so as to raise teacher morale and motivation, high level of security, high productivity and better quality of working life. <P> |
