The Rwanda Parliament was set up after transition period, through elections made since 29 September to 2 October 2003. <P>It began its activities on October 10, 2003, after swearing ceremony of members of two chambers <P>The Rwanda Parliament has two chambers: Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.<P>The Chamber of deputies is composed of by 80 members that include : <P>53 elected in universal suffrage through a secret ballot;<P>Twenty four (24) women are elected by specific councils in accordance with the administrative entities; <P>2 members elected by the National Youth Council;<P>1 member elected by the federation of the Association of the Disabled.<P>The Chamber of Deputies has two missions : <P>1. Legislative mission<P>2. Government oversight mission<P>While the Senate has 26 members |
