Stated Role Cass is a multi-disciplinary social science research and teaching department which operates in relation to an independent trust (The Cass Trust) which was set up to develop and advise the department on strategic directions that CASS can pursue in its teaching and research agenda.<P>CASS aims to serve as a multi-disciplinary applied social sciences department, providing high level graduate and policy relevant teaching and research. It pursues excellence in scholarship and production of policy and program relevant research with high level professional training. Within the broad area of environmental teaching, <P>CASS House <P>CASS focuses on the social, political, micro-economic and institutional aspects of natural resources management, longitudinal and participatory methodologies being dominant<P>
