·To train competent, skilled, self reliant and resourceful personnel to actively participate in agricultural development either as public servants, private organizations employees or self employed individuals.

·To establish and maintain a well managed institute farm to act as a demonstration unit for the students and the surrounding community and in the process raise appropriation- in- aid for the government.

·To attract and retain well motivated agricultural trainers capable of initiating and participating in teaching, research and consultancy programmes within the institute and outside in collaboration with other stakeholders.
