SERUMULA is an NGO that concentrates mainly in the area of Natural Resources Management. The emphasis is mainly on projects and processes that have promise, sustainability, marketability and adaptability to local conditions. |
| Activities |
(i) training small scale farmers and promotion of the indigenous farming system called Machobane Farming System (MFS) which uses naturally available manure, ash and crop residues to increase soil fertility and soil water retention;<P>(ii) working with groups of farmers in the implementation and promotion of Permaculture during production of horticultural crops;<P>(iii) working in the areas of Ecotourism, Land and Water Management specifically by training farmers in the construction of swales (simple water harvesting structures); and promotion of low cost Micro-Irrigation; and <P>(iv) providing training and capacity building to Farmer Associations and CBOs working in various rural development programs in Lesotho, particularly in the areas of Project Management, Organizational Development, Knowledge Management and Learning as well as in Networking Facilitation. |
