Stated Role The National Agricultural Research Institute of Niger is the main agricultural R&D agency in Niger, with the primary purpose to contribute to the attainment of food security and rural development in Niger.
Activities INRAN’s research focus includes crops, agronomy, animal sciences, forestry, fisheries, and agroecological and environmental issues.

These activities are carried out at four regional agricultural research centers based in Niamey, Kollo, Maradi, and Tahoua. Each center oversees various research stations and units known as development support points (PAD).
