| Notes |
Creation of IRAG: In 1989, the Agricultural Research Institute of Guinea (IRAG) was founded; incorporating numerous agricultural R&D centers and stations from across the country’s various agroecological zones. IRAG’s mission was to implement Guinea’s newly established national agricultural research policy under the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MARA)—renamed the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Forestry (MAEF) in 1997, and then the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAE) in 1999.
