SDAS is the public statistical agency of Seychelles with the stated mission 'to assist and encourage informed decision-making, research and discussion within government and the community, by providing high quality, user-oriented Statistical Service; to actively co-ordinate statistical activities across Government agencies and promote the use of statistical standards'. |
| Activities |
The objectives of the SDAS are as follow:<P>-Maintain a balanced, timely, relevant statistical service. <P>-Extend and improve the statistical service.<P>-Promote statistical standards, classifications and frameworks. <P>-Balance benefits to users with public and private costs of collection. <P>-Promote the SDAS to policy makers and community leaders. <P>-Develop SDAS staff through the In-Service Training Programme. <P>-Provide the various arms of Government with the necessary statistical data required for planning and programme preparation, appraisal, implementation and monitoring. This also implies data required by the Government for policy formulation, research and administration. <P>-Co-ordinate the statistical activities with those of other government and business agencies. <P> |
