The chief directorate Governance and Administration is responsible for facilitating integrated and strategic policy formulation through Governance and Administration sector departments, with emphasis on the core departments which are The Presidency, Public Service and Administration, Provincial and Local Government, National Treasury, Government Communication and Information System and Statistics South Africa. It is also tasked to oversee the the government wide monitoring and evaluation system, with a view to improving service delivery and transparency, accountability and information sharing across government<P> |
| Activities |
Facilitate strategic planning process in government by developing and managing the National Planning Framework and Planning cycle which is meant to alignment of planning across the three spheres of government.<P>Implement Government-Wide Monitoring and Evaluation system across all national departments and provinces to contribute to improved governance and enhance the effectiveness of public sector organisations and institutions as well as the monitoring of the implementation of the Government's Programme of Action adopted at the Cabinet Lekgotla.<P>Participate in the Forum of South African Directors-General (FOSAD), Governance and Administration Directors-General cluster and Medium Term Expenditure Committee (MTEC) responsible for policy coordination and alignment of policies processes into budgetary processes.<P>Provide analytical and advisory support to the three political principals in The Presidency on Cabinet Memoranda that would discussed before the Cabinet Committee on Governance and Administration. <P>Support activities of The Presidency such as providing notes for speeches, prepares responses to parliamentary questions and capture the policy matters that emerges in the Presidential Imbizo.<P>The staff establishment of the chief directorate: Governance and Administration consist of the Chief Director, two Directors, Deputy Director, Assistant Director and Senior Secretary. <P> |
