Having served as Chair to the Commission since its inception, Mr Kakhobwe is proud of the Commission's role as a catalyst in the development of the capital market. Most companies listed on the stock exchange are previously government-owned entities that have been privatized. He is also pleased to note that the PC has conducted its transactions in a professional and transparent manner.
An Honourary Knight Commander of the Order of
Saint Michael and George (KCMG), Mr. Kakhobwe is also the Executive Director of the Malawi Social Action Fund. Prior to this appointment, he has served variously as Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Ambassador to Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, and Ethiopia, and as High Commissioner to Zambia and Great Britain. In addition to his experience in those countries, he has also lived in Lesotho where he earned a bachelors degree in English and Government.
