Elected in the constituency of Mahebourg-Plaine Magnien at the General Elections in 1987, 1991, 1995 and 2005. 2. Member of Public Accounts Committee (1993-1994). 3. Minister of Finance (November 1996 - September 2000). 4. Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations & Employment as from 8 July 2005. 5.
