Notes "The former vice-chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Akpan Ekpo has instituted a scholarship fund in honour of his late father, Elder Hogan Ekpo and living mother Madam Affiong Ekpo. In the scholarship, 26 students drawn from villages of Ikot Obio Eka and Ikot Umiang Ede were presented with the sum of N10,000 each to further their secondary school education at public schools in Etinan Local Government Area."
