Notes Profile of Honorable Giles Mutsekwa:
Honorable Giles Mutsekwa is a founder member of the MDC in 1999; he was elected to be the Member of Parliament of Mutare in 2000 and was reelected in 2005.
He was member of Zimbabwe Unity Movement and the Manicaland Provincial Chairman. He also joined The Democratic Party and was the founder member and National Chairman.
He is also a trained solider with various military awards, which include General Service Medal – Bronze Cross of Zimbabwe. He has held several posts in the army including the post of Officer CADET (UK) 1978-1979 and in 1983 he was promoted to the rank of Captain. He also participated in the Military campaigns of Mozambique between 1982-86.
Giles is studying for a degree in Peace, Leadership and Governance at Africa University.
He holds several diploma qualifications in Chartered Institute (CIT), National Diploma in Business Management, and War Strategic Studies from the University of Zimbabwe. He also undertook the Intermediate Staff Course and Office Cadet Course in the United Kingdom.
He is also a businessman involved in the commercial transport industry.
