Notes He was born on 29 January 1965 in the district of Matobo in Muthe Village under Chief Bango in Matebeland South Province. He is married with three children.
Lovemore is MP for Matobo constituency since 2000 and is a founder member of the party in 1999.
His political activism dates to 1977 when he joined the liberation struggle under ZAPU military wing and was based in Zambia. He received his military training at Jaison Ziya –Papa Moyo training camp and Nampandu camp in 1977.In 1999 he become an interim national executive member of the MDC and he was responsible for Policy and Research portfolio. In 2000 he was elected for Matobo and re-elected in 2005 to the present day.
In the legislative duties he is the Parliament Portfolio member of Education, Sports and Culture. He also sits in the Public Accounts committee.
He is a member of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) parliamentary Forum, which helps in supervising elections in the SADC region. In 2006 he was elected the Vice-chairman of the MDC at the 2nd Congress. Following the death of former Isaac Matongo in May 2007 he was appointed the MDC Chairman.
Chairman Moyo is a member of the MDC National Executive Council. Professionally Chairman Moyo is a man with several business management certificates. Amongst them are qualifications in Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Studies and Development Leadership and Management from the University of the North in South Africa.
