The Honourable Minister Mohlabi Kenneth Tsekoa was born on the 13th of August 1945. In 1970 he did Certificate in Education for secondary level at the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. He was in United Kingdom in 1973 doing Diploma in Education at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He did Bachelor of Education Degree at the National University of Lesotho in 1976. He then proceeded to do Masters Arts in Organisational Management and International Education with Massachusetts in the United States of America in 1981. In 1994 he went to London in United Kingdom where he did Masters of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations. From 1970 to 1974 Mr. Tsekoa was a teacher at Hlotse High School. He was appointed Deputy Headmaster and maths and science teacher at St. Agnes High School until 1976 when he was employed by Lesotho Distance Teaching Centre (LDTC) as a Senior Education Officer. In 1978 he became the Director of LDTC. Between 1984 and 1986 he was Deputy Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Education. He was Principal Secretary of Ministry of Education from 1986 to 1989. From 1989 to 1996 he was High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the United Kingdom and was simultaneously Lesotho’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, Spain and Portugal. From 1996 to 2001 he was Government Secretary and Head of the Public Service. |
