Presentation of Mrs Sidibe A. Diallo
Mme Sidibé Aminata Diallo is the first female candidate to contest a presidential election in Mali. At the election in May 2007 won by Amadou Toumani Toure, she obtained 12,326 votes (0.53%).
Mrs Diallo is a professor of development and town planning at Bamako University and has worked for the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO. She has made the environment and boosting employment in provincial towns one of her main campaign pledges.
