Samuel joined National Democratic Party in 1960, joined ZAPU in 1961and was Provincial Secretary for Matebeleland, detained by Ian Smith regime in Gweru Prison and WhaWha Prison for 14 years, joined MDC in 1999 and is currently MDC secretary for Integration, Healing and Reconciliation.
