Dr. Thomas Nzioki Kibua is the Executive Director of the Institute. Dr. Kibua, has Masters degrees from the University of Nairobi and Yale University and a Ph.D degree in Economics from University of Nairobi. He has extensive hands-on experience in the management of macro-economic affairs in addition to many years of university teaching, supervision and examination of dissertations (at both under and post-graduate levels). Dr. Kibua has wide experience in consultancy on development and management issues. He has worked on long Term Technical Assistance Programme as Economic Advisor to the Kenyan Ministry of Health, was Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya for eight years, served as Advisor to the President of East and Southern Africa Trade and Development Bank and is Senior Lecturer in Economics, University of Nairobi. His areas of specialisation include banking, finance, quantitative methods and development economics (macroeconomic management, infrastructural and social sector development). He is widely travelled and has contacts in JICA, USAID, World Bank, IMF, Commonwealth Secretariat and most multinational agencies and research institutions. tnkibua@ipar.or.ke
