| Notes | Michael Brown, President of Innovative Resources Management (IRM), has over 25 years of experience in natural resource management, integrated conservation and development projects, capacity building, coalition building, participatory rural appraisal and social soundness analysis. He has worked extensively throughout Africa in arid, semi-arid and tropical forest regions, as well as in Asia and the Caribbean. Mr. Brown directed the PVO-NGO/NRMS Project (a USAID-funded consortium including World Learning, World Wildlife Fund and CARE) from 1989-97. The goal of this project was to strengthen African NGO capacity in strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of appropriate and feasible natural resource management activities at the local, national and regional level. He has served in numerous short and long term consultancies in Rwanda, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Somalia, Haiti to name a few. Mr. Brown is Founder and President of IRM, a Washington D.C. based non-profit organization committed to meeting the complex challenges of sustainable development.
