| Notes | Ali Mohamed Shein (b. 13 March 1948) has been Vice-President of Tanzania since 13 July 2001. Originally from the island of Pemba, Shein is a member of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). The President of the United Republic of Tanzania appointed Shein to be the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
