Dr Miko is a geologist with 19 years experience in mineral exploration. He was previously employed as a government geologist working in different regions of Niger particularly in the uranium-bearing basin of Tim Mersoï (western edge of the Aïr mountain) and in the great Iullemmeden basin as Project Manager of the Niger coal research program where an important deposit was discovered in 2004 at Salkadamna. Miko was the expert geologist in the European Union SYSMIN Project from May 2004 to April 2006 at which time he was in charge of the geological control of earth sciences basis documents. Miko completed a post-graduate research (from 1995 to 1999) on the sedimentary dynamic of detritic and lignitic formations in relation with coal exploration in the Iullemmeden basin. At the end of his thesis, in 1999, he received a PhD from the University of Niamey (Niger) with the scientific co-operation of the University of Dijon (France).
