Paul Hanrahan was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of AES in 2002.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Hanrahan was the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of AES responsible for business development activities and the operation of multiple electric utilities and generation facilities in Europe, Asia and Latin America. In addition, Mr. Hanrahan was previously the President and CEO of AES China Generating Co. Ltd., a public company formerly listed on NASDAQ. He also managed other AES businesses in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prior to joining AES, Mr. Hanrahan served as a line officer on a fast attack nuclear submarine, USS Parche (SSN 683). In March 2006, he was elected to the board of Corn Products International, Inc. He is a graduate of Harvard School of Business and the U.S. Naval Academy. [ Retrieved on 18 FEB 2008 ] |
