| Notes | Born in Kipng’orom village in Eldama Ravine in 1959, She joined Kipng’orom Primary School in 1966 but had to move to Kiplombe Primary School in 1970 because of severe drought in parts of Koibatek. she joined Nakuru High School for O-levels.She opted to join Kenya Science Teachers College for a diploma course despite having qualified to join ‘A’ levels but her former principal helped her changed her mind. After her A level she joined The University of Nairobi in 1979 and later graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Education (Science) degree. She was posted to Moi High School-Kabarak as a teacher. She was later awarded a Ford Foundation scholarship to study for masters degree at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. In 1990, she completed her doctorate and three years later she joined Egerton University as a lecturer. The university management appointed her the head of postgraduate programmes in 1994. In 2001, Sambili became the founding director of International Linkage and Study Abroad programmes. She is married to Planning and Development PS Dr Edward Sambili. [ Retrieved on 14 JUL 2008 ] |
