Kola can best be described as an entrepreneur extraordinaire. Prior to successfully coordinating the management buy out of ABB Electrical Systems Limited, Mr. Karim had started many companies from scratch and nurtured them to success.
Mr. Karim first job was at the Guardian Royal Exchange, U.K, which he joined in 1988 as a trainee manager shortly after graduating from City University London. The experience he gained at the Guardian Royal Exchange lead to a senior management role at the prestigious H.K Beaumont & Associates. However, the entrepreneurial bug had bitten Mr. Karim and he left that company to start Koda Trading Limited, a company involved in the importation and exportation of heavy machinery.
His current portfolio consists of businesses in the construction, commodity trading, agro-allied products, and oil and gas sectors. Mr. Karim serves as a director of Industrial & Mechanical Services Limited, Davof Technical Services, Fortis Construction Limited and Shoreline Energy International Limited.
