Notes Professor Victor Ngonidzashe Muzvidziwa was appointed to the Pro Vice Chancellor post on 1st August 2006. He has worked at the University of Zimbabwe for more than twenty years. Professor Muzvidziwa possesses extensive administrative experience in university education. He is a former Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies, UZ and also former Dean of the Faculty of Social Science of Swaziland, a full Professor in the Department of Sociology UZ and former UZ Senior Proctor, Warden, Chairman of the Sociology Department for a total of six years and has served in various committees of Senate and Council.
First joined UZ as a Teaching assistant and rose through the academic ranks to become full Professor in 2004. Professor Muzvidziwa is a member of several professional and academic associations such as Anthropology Southern Africa, Pan African Anthropological Association and the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences. He is an active member of the Zimbabwe Human Factor Chapter. Professor Muzvidziwa is a well published scholar and has authored many books, monograms, referred journal articles, book chapters, conference papers and consultancy reports. Professor Muzvidziwa is an editorial Board member of two referred journals. In addition Professor Victor Ngonidzashe Muzvidziwa is also a veteran of the armed struggle.
