Notes "Mr Bheenick has published widely on a range of developmental issues and on the Mauritian economy in general. He was awarded a Honorary Professorship of Political Economy at the University of Mauritius in 1989. In the 1990s and early 2000, he was the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Co-operation (1997-99), COMESA Council of Ministers (2000),ADB/EU/IMF/World Bank-sponsored Cross Border Initiative, subsequently Regional Integration Facilitation Forum (1997-2000), and of CPTM Finance Working Group (2001-06)."
