"Dr. Chung has been a leading educator in nuclear engineering, a leading force in nuclear power plant design standardization and the growth of civilian use of nuclear power in Asia.
Dr. Chung served as Governor and President of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the late 1980s. Dr. Chung was appointed to the position of Minister of Science and Technology of the Korean government twice, in 1990 and 1994. He also represented Korea as Ambassador for Atomic Energy Cooperation for two separate terms in 1992 and 1996. He has been Atomic Energy Commissioner of the Republic of Korea since 1990."
