He graduated in 1988 G.C with a Bachelor degree in Economics from Asmara University. He also studied Master of Business Administration and postgraduate Diploma in public and urban administration. Melaku first worked as a project design and evaluation expert and planning and programming department head with Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Next he accepted a transfer to the Prime minister office where he worked as a Project Evaluation and Monitoring Senior Expert and as a head of Afar regional State Affairs desk head in the office. Melaku then transferred to Ministry of Federal Affairs and worked as a head of planning and finance department, of Civil Service Reform Programme office and as an advisor to the minister sequentially. |
