Educational history - Primary education: NKONG NTAP, NKONG NGUI (MAKAK) and IIANGA (Eséka) - Secondary education: Nkongamba (BEPC, which is equivalent to English GCE-O level), Lycée Leclerc (BAC Philosophie, which is equivalent to English GCE -A level) - Higher education: Université de Poitiers (first year law), Université de Toulouse (Bachelor of Law, DEA); - 1959: Admission as a foreigner into the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) of Paris; - 1961: Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures (DES) in Economic Sciences, and back in Cameroon; - 1965: Doctorate degree in Economic Sciences, with honours. Thesis: The issue of credit in the development of Cameroon, jury chaired by André Philippe Work history - 1961: Deputy director of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Economy; Director of External Economic Relations in Douala for 6 (six) months. Back in Yaounde, he holds the post of Director of Economic Orientation after the reform of this ministry. Coordinator of the preparation of the 1st five-year economic plan of Cameroon: launching of industries in Cameroon. - 1963-1965: Secretary of State for Finance; - 1965: Director of Legal Disputes and Studies in the Ministry of Territorial Administration; - 1968: On secondment at the ADB (African Development Bank); ? As a matter of fact, in his young age, he convinced the management of SHELL to build their head office in Yaoundé as in Kenya. The building makes the pride of the Capital city. After brainstorming, he called on business persons to invest in Cameroon. That is how a few factories were created, including SOCATRAL, CIMENCAM, SOSUCAM among others. - He remains close to the population and share their common concerns; - His philosophy: - “The identity of a man is in the way he acts, not in what he says” - “Self is hateful” , a doctrine he learnt from his primary school teacher, Mr. HOB BITEP in 1944. |
