| Mindmanager software, from Mindjet, is a market leader in the field of Mind Mapping – an increasingly popular visual tool for organising, planning and brainstorming ideas. We use it as a report writer for the display of complex organisations. A beginner’s guide ‘Boxes’ in the maps are known as topics. Notes and hyperlinks associated with a topic are indicated by icons to the right of the topic. Click on these to access. Maps contain numbers of hierarchical levels. These can be expanded and collapsed either using the +/- keys or by pressing Shift+Alt+’n’ (where ‘n’ is the number of levels you wish to display) Ctrl+F5 will fit the map to your screen size (and refit it if you change the extent of the display). Zoom keys or the Zoomfactor percentage can be used in conjunction with side and bottom scrollbars to pan through large maps at the desired scale. In most cases printing an entire map will not be fruitful (typically maps would have to be printed on A0 paper to be readable as a whole). However you can select any topic in a map and, in the ‘Print Range’ section of the Print dialogue box choose ‘Primary selected topic’. This will print only the displayed tree below your chosen topic. |
